I'm Onakoya Korede, a self-taught Software Engineer with a background in Philosophy from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. My journey into tech began after graduation — fueled by curiosity, discipline, and a strong desire to build systems that make people's lives better.
I began my engineering career at Almond Careers — a UK-based project management firm in Lagos — where I progressed from a junior engineer to a Subject Matter Expert. That experience built the foundation for my growth in both technical and leadership capacity.
Over the past 5+ years, I've delivered impact at high-growth startups across Fintech, Telemedicine, and SaaS. I specialize in building scalable, maintainable, and customer-focused platforms — always with an eye for performance and long-term product value.
My approach is defined by ownership and excellence. I don't just write code — I care deeply about the business problem, the user experience, and the engineering quality. I'm the teammate who takes initiative and pushes the team forward.
Beyond code, I write to teach. I founded the SkylineCodes Newsletter— a weekly publication that breaks down software engineering, system design, and database principles in clear, simple language. If you enjoy deep dives into how things work under the hood, you'll feel right at home. Consider subscribing.
I also built an Authentication Starter Kit for developers looking to ship secure, scalable auth systems faster — check it out!
